KYC documents (mandatory)

The Requirements of selling on Jumia

Individual Seller
  • A valid copy of the national ID card (Passport, National ID)
  • Voters Card or Driving license (as alternatives if you don’t have the above)
  • Work Permit (For None Ugandans)
Company/ Business seller
  • A copy of the business owner’s ID card (Passport, National ID)
  • A copy of a company bank account statement or a company bank account registration certificate
  • Tax Identification Number (TIN)
  • VAT
  • Certificate of Registration
  • Form 20
  • Work Permit (For None Ugandans)

Bank Certificate Requirements:

Please ensure the following essential information is included in the bank Certificate:

  • Confirm the name of the account holder (for individuals) / company name (for businesses) must match your bank account in your Marketplace.
  • IBAN (International Bank Account Number).
  • Account number.
  • The certificate should be stamped by the bank.

Who can sell on Jumia?

Anyone can sell on Jumia, whether you are an individual seller or a business seller, there is an option to register for both!

How to insert your bank details information?

Here is the explanation about each field required to fill-in your bank details

  1. Beneficiary Name: Full name of the bank account holder. Example: Thomas JOHNSON or Apofina LLC
  2. Bank account number: It is the identifier of your bank account, it contains 6 to 18 digits. Example: 00164538789
  3. IBAN: It is the international unique identifier of your bank account. It starts with 2 letters that are your country code, followed by 12 to 30 digits. Example: EG380019000500000000263180002
  4. SWIFT CODE: Also called BIC code, it is a unique identifier of your bank. It contains 11 characters. Example: BCAIEGCX008
  5. Bank name: Full name of the bank
  6. Bank document: It is an official document issued by the bank document to prove that you/your company is the owner of this bank account. This document must include the bank name or logo, the account holder name, the account holder address, and must be issued on a bank letterhead or stamped by the bank. This document could be bank account statement or a bank account registration certificate. Examples of Bank documents below:

Registering on Jumia is 100% free. There is also NO monthly fee to be a seller on Jumia. Jumia takes a percentage of each sale you do through the Jumia platform. You can check the commission percentage here.
